Team Culture at Blacksmith Fork Assisted Living
Being a Super Caregiver
We believe in being Super Caregivers. We go beyond our job descriptions, doing the little things for residents and co-caregivers.
Being Compassionate
Compassion starts with patience and understanding. We strive to be compassionate and patient for residents, family members, and co-caregivers. It’s important to respect residents’ dignity and privacy. Treat them as your own family.
Being Flexible and Teachable
Having a humble heart means being open to learning and being flexible. Our team is happy to work on unscheduled shifts. We try to be open-minded, listen, and learn new things. We keep our certificates up to date, which shows that we’re always learning.
Being Responsible
We finish our tasks on each shift. We focus and concentrate to make sure we give out medications safely. We’re on time or early when we’re scheduled. We know what the residents need and take care of any situations that need attention during our shifts.
Building Staff Synergy
When we work together, we can do more than we can if we work alone. We make magic happen together. We look for ways to surprise our co-caregivers. We try to have a good attitude and work together.
Communicating
We communicate openly and honestly. We make sure our shift change reports are accurate and on time. We call the manager, nurse, and family members of the residents when we need to. We make sure our MARS is accurate, including incident reports, vitals, weights, and other important information.
Creating Fun, Smiles, and Laughter
We want to bring joy to everyone around us. We ask ourselves, “How can we smile more?” “How can we get the residents to laugh until they cry?” “How can we create fun moments?”
Creating Positive Interactions
Being positive is contagious, and we’re all about looking for opportunities to show patience and caring to our residents, family members, and co-caregivers. We always keep the resident’s dignity and privacy in mind. We treat them like our own family.
Delivering “WOW” Experiences
When we do our job and make it look effortless and impressive, that’s “WOW”! We’re always on the lookout for ways to wow our residents, family members, home health agencies, and anyone we come across. We welcome everyone with a warm smile, make eye contact, ask how we can help, remember their names, and escort them when needed.
